Bible Study Opportunities

Advent Bible Study Begins Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.

Our Advent Bible Study this year will be Faithful:  Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph by Adam Hamilton.  From his beginnings as a humble carpenter to his all-important role as the earthly father of Jesus Christ, Joseph’s place in the Nativity story is sometimes overlooked.  But Joseph’s life contains valuable lessons for all of us.  His courageous actions were crucial to the birth of Christ and God’s salvation plan for humanity.

Adam Hamilton write of this study:  “Typically when Christians explore the  stories  surrounding the birth of Jesus, they focus on Mary, the mother of Jesus.  But in this study our focus will be on Joseph, his life, and his role in the birth and life of Jesus.

“We don’t often hear about Joseph because there is relatively little in the Gospels about him.  So we have to read between the lines to fill in the picture of Joseph’s life, and to some extent we must use our imagination to connect the its of information we do find in the Gospels.  As we do this, we will find that there’s more than meets the eye in the New Testament accounts of Joseph’s life.”

Please join us in person, or via Zoom, to explore this new perspective on the Christmas story.  Our study begins on Tuesday Nov. 17, and continues on Tuesday nights December 1,8, and 15.  Please contact Pastor Barbara if you have not previously used the Zoom Bible study link.
